For this mini project, we were focussing on portraiture and we worked at creating artistic 'selfies'. We looked at different artists to do so and we used different types of setups as well...
The first photo on the left was one of my ideas for an artistic selfie. I decided to take a simple photo in a low key setup in black and white on the camera. I used a tripod and a remote in order to take the photo of myself and then used Photoshop in editing the photo. When I Photoshoped the picture I changed the colours of the photo to create a pop art styled selfie in the style of ANDY WORHOL. |
The photo on the right was a slightly different idea that I had about creating an artistic selfie. The inspiration for this photo mainly came from the Photographer LEE FRIEDLANDER. After looking at his work, I found that although he took many photos of himself, they were mainly just of his shadow and didn't show his face. This concept intrigued me and I decided to create a selfie based on this idea. I used a magazine cover of a fashion magazine that showed the models full face. I then used this by lining my face and hand to line up with the models to make it look like my own. I used a high key setup in this shoot and a pink backdrop to match the colour of the magazine cover. |
